Format contouring courses
The contouring courses are currently held online. Participants will be asked to delineate 2 clinical cases in preparation of a teaching session. During the teaching session, cases and delineations will be discussed and reviewed based on the current evidence-based guidelines.
In order to increase participation and for attendance to be tracked, participants need to be connected with microphone + camera.
Presence (*)
Each academic year, BeSTRO organizes two contouring workshops. From the 1st of October 2023, the contouring workshops have become a mandatory part of the BeSTRO-organized education programme. This means that you will have to attend 75% (or 6 out of 8) of the contouring courses during the 4-year cycle leading up to your official BeSTRO-examination. Participation to the contouring workshops includes both the delineation exercise (done in preparation to the course) and the online feedback session.
This change means that the workshops will become mandatory for certain students that are already partially through their 4-year course cycle. For these students, alternative quotas are applied: students in their 4th year will have to attend ½ workshops; students in their 3rd year will have to attend ¾ workshops and students in their 2nd year will have to attend ⁴⁄₆ workshops.
Registration and cancellation
The contouring workshops are open and free of charge for all junior members of BeSTRO. However, registration is required through the website. We insist that you register in time, and inform us before the registration deadline should you want to cancel your registration.
* Please keep in mind that the attendance requirements outlined here (over 75% for all courses and contouring workshops, and at least one attendance for all seminars) are MINIMUM requirements. Therefore, you should aim to attend ALL teaching courses and contouring workshops throughout the 4-year cycle, as well as all seminars, at least once. Absences should only occur for justifiable reasons. However, as these are all mandatory parts of your education, you have the right to be exempt from your clinical duties in order to attend these courses. Your department MUST free up your schedule for these moments.
