Each academic year, BeSTRO organizes about 7 training courses and 2 contouring workshops for the junior members in a 4-year returning cycle. Junior members are required to attend at least 5/7 teaching courses each year. In addition, an attendance of 75% is mandatory for the contouring workshops (or 6 out of 8 during the 4-year cycle leading up to the official BeSTRO-examination). BeSTRO also organizes 3 seminars on topics that are not discussed during the teaching courses: the basic physics seminar, the advanced physics seminar and the radioprotection seminar. Each of these seminars are organized every two years, with the advanced physics seminar and the radioprotection seminar being held in the same year. Participation to all 3 seminars once over the course of residency (and the Radiobiology course of ESTRO) is obligatory in order to fulfil the requirements of the recognition committee. Every year in June, the yearly exam for the junior members is organized at UZ Leuven which consists of both an oral and a written part.
