The final day marked the conclusion of the 2026 National SFjRO Courses in Radiation Oncology, dedicated this year to brachytherapy: a key therapeutic modality in modern cancer care.

Participants followed a comprehensive and rigorous program, addressing the full spectrum of current challenges and innovations in brachytherapy. The course combined high-quality scientific content with interactive discussions, fostering an engaging learning environment.

This edition was also distinguished by the presence of Belgian residents, who were warmly welcomed by the organizers, highlighting the growing international collaboration within the radiation oncology community.

One of our attending assistants, Dr. Madeline Michel, shared the following experience:

“It was interesting. During the introduction, the speaker mentioned that there were Belgian radiation oncologists present and that they were very happy that we were there. The content was engaging. It was organized similarly to our BeSTRO courses, with PowerPoint presentations, but over two full and intensive days. I believe you have the program with the different topics. Interactions were encouraged, and I asked a question to one of the speakers. Lunch was provided, and we were also invited to the Thursday evening event. A group photo was taken, but I haven’t received it. I took a few photos of the slides, but I don’t think that’s what you’re interested in. There was also an ethics session with interactive voting, which I found quite original.”

This initiative fits within the strengthened collaboration between BeSTRO and the Société Française de Radiothérapie Oncologie (SFRO). Further joint activities will be communicated in due course.

We look forward to the next edition and future initiatives!
