Dear Colleagues,

As part of the establishment of a National Multidisciplinary Advisory Board (MAB) for Cancer Predisposition in Children, Adolescents and Young Adults (C-AYA), we are reaching out to identify professionals in Belgium involved in the care and/or research of cancer predispositions and predisposition genes.

The MAB will serve as a national platform for multidisciplinary discussions of complex or uncertain cases and provide expert advice on:

  • Diagnostic work-up: clinical criteria, genetic testing options, suspected predispositions without confirmed diagnosis, …
  • Management: treatment, follow-up (risk reduction, early detection, interception), atypical presentations of known predispositions, …
  • Interpretation and additional work-up of (putative) germline results: variants of unknown significance (VUS), incidental or secondary findings, mutations in predisposition genes identified in malignant samples with potential germline origin, …
  • Referral to European experts (e.g., ERN Genturis).

Through case discussions, the MAB will offer opportunities to share knowledge and experience and exchange of best practices.

To support this initiative, we kindly ask you to complete a brief survey (around 5 minutes) designed to map expertise and identify potential contributors to this effort.
