World Radiotherapy Awareness Day (WRAD) will be celebrated for the first time on September 7, 2025, a date chosen to commemorate the first patient treated on a linear accelerator. The day’s purpose is to increase awareness of radiotherapy’s essential role in cancer treatment, improve access to it globally, and highlight the challenges like regional disparities and workforce shortages. With the theme “One Voice for Radiotherapy,” WRAD aims to unify the global radiotherapy community to advocate for this life-saving treatment and ensure that more patients can benefit from it.
